| Oscar Care Tips |
|
Diet: Oscars are chow hounds and quite accomplished beggars. Sometimes
they can be finicky, especially if you feed your fish one diet
exclusively. A good varied diet will ensure the best of health
for your fish. Juveniles need HBH’s Oscar Bites and Cichlid
4 Flake Frenzy. Sub adults use Oscar Grow and Cichlid 4 Flake
Frenzy. Adults need Oscar Show, Super Cichlid Sinkers and Super
Cichlid Floaters.
Aquarium Size / Décor. The size of your aquarium should
match the growing and mature size of your fish. Juveniles can
be Kept in 20 – 50 gallons as well as a single adult, pairs
should be kept in 60+ gallons. For optimum health of your fish
tank size is crucial. The more room you provide your fish the
more likely they are to spawn. Oscars need a sense of security
and available hiding places.
Forget About Live Plants!
With Oscar tanks, rocks, gravel, and artificial plants are the
only way to go. Be sure that rocks have no sharp edges as they
may cause serious injury and scaring. However you decide to decorate
the tank the Oscars will be sure to re-decorate.

| What is Spirulina |
Spirulina is one of the blue-green algae’s (single-celled

| Krill are small (25 mm) shrimp-like members
of the class Crustacea. They are cold-water marine organisms harvested
primarily from Arctic and Antarctic waters. The species Euphasia
pacifica is found off the western coast of North America. Krill
are planktonic and feed on rich algae and zooplankton. As a result,
Krill are extremely nutritious when fed as part of an aquaculture
diet |
